Privacy and security statement

We have created this statement in order to demonstrate MissouriBusiness.net's firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices.

While it may seem like a lot of information is collected about you when you enroll for training seminars, much of this helps us customize or direct content to you that is personally interesting or pertains to your business. It also allows us to track online courses you have completed or are in the process of completing.

We may use your computer's IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to help identify you and your shopping cart and to gather broad demographic information (such as your city and state).

This site contains links to other sites. MissouriBusiness.net is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

Our site uses an order form for customers to request information, products, and services. We collect visitor's contact information (like their e-mail address) and financial information (like their account or credit card numbers when payment is required). The customer's contact information is also used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services. Unique identifiers may be collected from Web site visitors to verify the user's identity and for use as account numbers in our record system.

Our online surveys may ask visitors for information about themselves and their businesses.

We may run contests on our site in which we ask visitors for contact information (like their e-mail address). The customer's contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

Public forums

Chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups may be available via this site to users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Terms of service

MissouriBusiness.net users and members will act responsibly. Violations in terms of service will result in suspension of membership to MissouriBusiness.net. MissouriBusiness.net members will not:

  1. harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress or discomfort upon another MissouriBusiness.net participant, user, or other individual or entity;
  2. transmit via or post to an MissouriBusiness.net internet area any information, data, text, files, links, software, communication or other materials ("Content") that MissouriBusiness.net staff consider to be unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
  3. intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, including but not limited to any regulations having the force of law while using or accessing MissouriBusiness.net or in connection with your use of MissouriBusiness.net in any manner; and
  4. post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation in MissouriBusiness.net, except in those areas that are designated for such a purpose. Members will not use MissouriBusiness.net to market or "spam" other members. The sender of any message deemed to be "spam", "marketing" or "mail bombing" to any other member or members will be liable for $100 for each mailbox/user that receives each unauthorized message, commercial (promoting services of a commercial entity) or not.

Security

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. MissouriBusiness.net will safeguard your online privacy. Information you provide will not be shared with partners or business sponsors of MissouriBusiness.net. We do not sell personal information to third parties or mailing lists.

There are some e-commerce sections where you may need to supply credit card information in order to complete a purchase. All financial transaction areas of this site are secure and credit card numbers are encrypted so that they cannot be viewed by outside parties.

Intellectual property

Members agree not to upload or transmit any Content to MissouriBusiness.net that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights ("Rights") of any party. By submitting Content to MissouriBusiness.net, you automatically grant — or warrant that the owner of such Content has expressly granted — MissouriBusiness.net the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed for the full term of any Rights that may exist in such Content.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER THE APPLICABLE LAW, MISSOURIBUSINESS.NET SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE MISSOURIBUSINESS.NET SITE FOR FOR COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS AND SERVICES OR RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH MISSOURIBUSINESS.NET OR RESULTING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF PROFITS, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE PROPERTIES, EVEN IF MISSOURIBUSINESS.NET HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Indemnification

MissouriBusiness.net members agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless MissouriBusiness.net, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees consultants and agents from any and all third party claims, liability, damages and/or costs (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from your use of MissouriBusiness.net, your violation of these Terms of Service or your infringement, or infringement by any other user of your Account, of any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.

Choice/opt-out

Our newsletters are provided strictly on an opt-in basis. Registrants may sign up for MissouriBusiness eNews via the Web site or when signing up for counseling or training services.

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us and our partners at the point where we request information about the visitor.

This site gives users the following options for removing their information from our database to not receive future communications or to no longer receive our service.
