Training Will Address Common, Yet Challenging Human Resource Issues

COLUMBIA, Mo., March 9, 2007 — Small business owners and managers struggling with human resource challenges and questions can find help at upcoming training sponsored by the Missouri Small Business Development Centers.

"HR for Small Business: Avoiding the Landmines" starts March 22 at several locations in Missouri. This series is targeted to small business employers who do not have HR professionals on staff. Training covers a variety of human resource topics, including:

  • Session 1 - Leadership and Liability Management
  • Session 2 - Recruitment and Selection
  • Session 3 - Compensation and Retention
  • Session 4 - Managing Employee Benefits and Payroll
  • Session 5 - Government Compliance

In addition to instruction, attendees will receive a reference manual with overviews of statutes and laws affecting small business, plus resource information and a template to develop a personnel policy manual. HR experts will answer specific questions.

The cost for each program is $45; attend all five programs in the series for $199.
