About the Missouri Market Development Program

The Missouri Market Development Program helps the state's manufacturers find and use recycled materials in producing new products.

The program provides companies with:

• information about the financial and environmental benefits of using recycled materials;
• help in locating recycled materials that can be used in manufacturing the company's products;
• technical and financial help in adapting manufacturing processes to use recycled materials; and
• assistance in promoting recycled products and services.

The program is administered by the Environmental Improvement and Energy Resources Agency , in cooperation with the Missouri departments of Natural Resources and Economic Development . Its activities are guided by a public-private coalition of 25 people involved in recycling.

There is no charge for participation in the Missouri Market Development Program or for the assistance of University of Missouri Extension specialists.

Up to $50,000 is available to help a company develop or expand its manufacturing capacity using recycled materials. The financial assistance can be used for purchase and installation of specialized equipment needed to use recovered materials in manufacturing.

Information concerning the cost advantages and availability of recycled materials is provided through Missouri Buys Recycled, a public-private partnership of businesses and government.
