Awards and Recognition Programs

There are several award programs in Missouri each year in which your business can compete with others for recognition for your environmental efforts. You do not have to wait for someone else to notice and nominate– it is standard practice to nominate your own business for an award.

National Recycling Coalition (NRC)

Annual Awards Program
The National Recycling Coalition presents awards to outstanding during the NRC’s Annual Congress and Exposition. Award categories include Outstanding Corporate Leadership,  Outstanding Public Education, Outstanding Recycling Innovation – Product or Process, and Outstanding Market Development.

Missouri Governor's Pollution Prevention Awards

This award honors Missouri businesses that have shown outstanding commitment to improve the environment through pollution prevention and energy conservation practices. Six regional winners and one statewide winner are recognized annually. Winners will be recognized at the annual Environmental Issues Management and Environmental Law Conference. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce sponsor the awards.

Missouri Waste Control Coalition (MWCC)

Each year the MWCC presents awards for outstanding achievement in waste management during its annual conference. An annual award is given to a private business (e.g., contractor, consultant, industry, private facility operator, resource recovery business, or manufacturer) whose actions and attitudes have surpassed the necessary requirements to meet or exceed regulatory guidelines or who have made a unique contribution to waste management practices.

Missouri Recycling Association (MORA)

Annual Recycling Awards
Each year, the Missouri Recycling Association recognizes outstanding recycling and waste reduction efforts by Missouri businesses during the annual conference. Award categories include the Outstanding Business Recycling/Waste Reduction Program, Best Use of a Recycled Material, and the Outstanding Recycling Education Program.
