MU Continuing Education Programs and Services Showcase

The University of Missouri-Columbia (UMC) offers a wide array of continuing education programs and services for tomorrow's learners. MU Extension's continuing education units provide courses, degrees, certificate programs, conferences and seminars, along with other professional development activities tailored to the needs of individual employers and industries of all sizes.

Available services include management training; event planning; counseling for small businesses; online degrees for professionals; on-site courses and programs; independent study courses; industrial safety instruction; and continuing education for professionals in law, public safety, medicine, nursing, veterinary medicine and organized labor.

MU Direct: Continuing and Distance Education
MU Direct offers direct access to the best of UMC and provides opportunities that meet the changing needs and lifestyles of today's non-traditional student—your employees. Continuing and distance education programs include degrees, certificates and a range of individual courses and series of courses, both noncredit and for credit. Programs are available in a variety of formats, including the traditional classroom setting, online "virtual classrooms" and interactive television.

Center for Distance and Independent Study
The Center for Distance and Independent Study is a nationally recognized leader with a strong history and reputation for serving students worldwide through traditional and online independent study courses. Students can choose from more than 110 university-level courses in which they may enroll anytime online. Students may take up to nine months to complete a course and work from home, office or elsewhere. The catalog is available online, as are sample lesson outlines. MU Conference Office
With more than 38 years of experience, the UMC Conference Office is a full-service, one-stop event-planning office for educational events ranging in size from five to 5,000 attendees anywhere in the world.
