The B2B Business Directory
If you think old-fashioned family-owned businesses are the dinosaurs
of the Internet age, you should visit the "B2B Business Directory"
at www.missouribusiness.net/b2b.
Many Missouri small businesses are taking advantage of the business-to-business
(B2B) website to assist them in selling their products and services.
The University of Missouri Extension Business Development
Programs provide the site as a public service to the business community
and its customers. The site connects small businesses with other businesses,
non-profit organizations and government agencies and assists the small
businesses in selling their products and services. The site, a "virtual
business card" web listing, is a free listing for Missouri's small
businesses.
The B2B Business Directory gives businesses that already have a website
one more way for potential customers to find their company. For a business
that currently is not on the web, it provides an easy, affordable and
(free) way to enter the world of e-commerce and learn more about business
opportunities.
To list a business on this site, fill in the requested information
using an on-line form at "Add Listing" on www.missouribusiness.net/b2b.
The form will request contact information. Each entry can include an
e-mail address, website address and description of the company written
in third person. Each business then can select a category(s) by which
to be searched, and a company logo can be included in the listing. Once
the information has been submitted, the listing will become active within
three to five business days. From time to time, a company can update
its information as needed by using an on-line form at "Modify Listing."
A small business can be searched by one or more criteria including
company name, region, counties or categories. Fill in the appropriate
field using the on-line form at "Search Listing." Depending
on the search criteria, one or more company's "virtual business
card&" will be displayed.
The true benefit of the B2B is that it allows you to not only list
YOUR business, but to also network with other businesses in your community,
region and state. This allows you to conduct business with your neighbors,
in essence keeping the revenue local and ensuring a healthy small business
community for you and your peers.
