Staff and Contact Information

The primary purpose of the Career Information Hotline (1-800-392-2949) is to provide dislocated workers and other individuals throughout the state of Missouri with information on occupations, education and training, financial aid, and job hunting information.

The Career Information Hotline hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Individuals placing calls to the Hotline after hours will receive a voice message asking them to leave a message as their call will be returned. A career counselor is available by appointment to answer any career related questions.

Career Options Project Staff

Dislocated Worker Information

The primary purpose of the Missouri Workforce Development Program is to help permanently laid-off Missouri workers to reenter the work force. The program provides:

  • Counseling
  • Assessment of education, experience and skills
  • Help in obtaining a General Equivalency Degree
  • On-the-job training
  • Classroom Skill Training
  • Job development and placement

Those eligible for the Workforce Development Programs include workers permanently laid-off from their job due to a work force reduction, business closure, farm failure, or is a displaced homemaker.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development offers this program through the Division of Workforce Development and local Workforce Investment Area offices throughout the State.
