Description: Learn about the services of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the proper direction to turn in pursuing government contracts. This orientation seminar will introduce you to the PTAC program and break down the government marketing process into smaller segments to help better understand the different levels of government. You will learn government marketing fundamentals, primary considerations, types of businesses, core requirements, certification processes and procedures, government marketing research strategies, determinants of selling potential, and how to find out which agencies buy from you in the various facets of federal, state, and local government. If your company has considered or is presently doing business with the government, you will not want to miss this informative presentation.

An education program created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, FastTrac NewVenture is designed to help you evaluate and perfect your business concept. FastTracs hands-on program uses your idea as a case study, giving you an opportunity to workshop your venture in a safe and supportive environment. FastTrac NewVenture is a nine-module, 31.5 hour, program.

Description: Class dates/times in series: Day 1: October 13th (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) Day 2: October 20th (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) Day 3: October 27th (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) Day 4: November 3rd (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) Day 5: November 10th (9:00 am - 2:00 pm) (must attend all sessions to complete training ) In FastTrac® NewVenture TM, a program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City, you will look at all aspects of your proposed company, exploring the feasibility of your business concept and learning how to develop a viable business plan. Participants will learn about start-up issues and learn to address the competition, legal matters, marketing and financial management aspects. FastTrac® participants don't just learn about business, they work on their own business endeavors throughout the course. This program is fast-paced and energizing, using guest speakers and lots of group breakout activities.
Location: Upon entering the building, take a left and then an immediate right down the yellow hallway. The class will be held in room 114 on the left side past the restrooms.

Description: November 10 (Tuesday), 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (part 1) November 12 (Thursday), 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (part 2) This workshop will cover the new intermediate features of Microsoft Excel 2007. Participants will learn to develop more advanced formulas and to apply absolute and relative cell references. In addition, they will learn to link cells between multiple worksheets. Learn how to sort and filter data. Participants will also learn how to create, modify, and print a chart within an Excel spreadsheet.
