Part of the U.S. Census Bureau web site. Find information on
the Economic Census to include number of establishments, employment,
payroll and receipts. Listed by industry and geographic area.
Ameristat
The Population Reference Bureau uses graphic and text summaries
to describe the demographic characteristics of the U.S. population.
Covers both current and historical trends.
Bureau of Economic
Analysis
Part of the U.S. Department of Commerce web site. Provides national,
regional, industry, and international economic statistics that
present information on such key issues as economic growth, regional
economic development, inter-industry relationships, and the
nation's position in the world economy.
Bureau of Labor
Statistics (BLS)
Part of the U.S. Department of Labor web site. Provides statistics
on employment and unemployment; prices and living conditions;
compensation and working conditions; productivity and technology;
employment projections; and international programs.
Bureau of Transportation
Statistics (BTS)
Part of the U.S. Department of Transportation web site. Conducts
research and analysis in several areas pertaining to transportation,
trade and travel. Provides a comprehensive set of transportation
statistics that includes data on shipments by domestic establishments
in manufacturing, wholesale, mining, and other selected industries.

Economic Information
Part of the University of Missouri-Kansas City web site. Provides
social and economic information, gathered from a variety of
sources, at several different levels of geography for the state
of Missouri and the Kansas City metropolitan statistical area
(MSA).
County
Business Patterns
Part of the U.S. Census Bureau web site. Provides statistics
on the total number of establishments, employment and payroll
for the nation, each state and each zip code.
Economic Policy
Institute
Conducts original research on five main economic areas: living
standards/labor markets; government and the economy; globalization
and trade; education; and retirement policy. It makes policy
recommendations based on its findings, and disseminates its
work to the appropriate audiences.

a significant body of statistics, research and analysis related
to agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural development.

retail sales, personal income, housing starts, inventory levels,

Administration (EIA)
Part of the U.S. Department of Energy web site. Provides energy
information and statistics by geography, fuel, business sector
and price or by specific subject area.

The main portal for finding government statistics. Provides
information on more than 70 federal statistical agencies. Direct
access to statistical profiles of states or statistical data
on topics of choice by using drop down menu.
FedWorld
Serves as the online locator service for a comprehensive inventory
of information disseminated by the Federal Government.
FirstGov
Official U.S. Government web site. Search government web sites
by organization or topic. Provides business data and statistics
on portals and agencies, banking, demographics, earnings, labor,
economic analysis, economic conditions by city, state and region,
and trade.

Web Locator
The Federal Web Locator is a service provided by the Center
for Information Law and Policy. Provides a list of federal government
web sites which provide access to the following branches of
government: legislative; judicial; executive; consortium and
quasi-official agencies; independent establishments and government
corporations; boards, commissions and committees; and non-government
federally related sites.
Guide
to the Economic Census
Part of the U.S. Census Bureau web site. Provides a detailed
portrait of the Nation's economy once every five years, from
the national to the local level. Several key statistics are
tabulated for all industries. They include: number of establishments
(or companies); number of employees; payroll; and measure of
output (sales, receipts, revenue, value of shipments, or value
of construction work done). Other items measured vary by business
sector.
InfoNation
InfoNation is an easy-to-use, two-step database that allows
you to view and compare the most up-to-date statistical data
for member states of the United Nations. Provides statistics
on geography, economy, population and social indicators.
Internal
Revenue Service - Small Business/Self-Employed Operating
Division
Tax return statistics for corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships,
and individuals. Find number of income tax returns filed by
type and size of business, based on assets and receipts. Also
find statistics for employment taxes, excise taxes, and international
taxes.

Provides access to socio-economic statistical data, which enables

Provides information and statistics on Missouri's economic indicators,

Part of the Missouri Secretary of State's web site. Missouri
population estimates and projections, Internet applications
to design customized census reports, geographic correspondence
engine (to find out what zip codes fall within a county, what
census tracts fall within a town, etc.).
National Agricultural
Statistics Service (NASS)
Part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture web site. Provides
national and state agricultural statistics on the direct and
indirect business activity associated with agriculture production,
supplies, consumption, facilities, costs, and returns.
Office
of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA)
Part of the University of Missouri Extension web site. Uses Regional
Profiles as a format for presenting important and timely social, economic
and demographic indicators pertaining to Missouri's counties and regions.
Indicator data such as change in population, ages of the population,
median family income, etc. are presented in table form. These profiles
also include graphs, maps and analytical text designed to make data
more informative and useful.

on the American Workforce
Part of the U.S. Department of Labor web site. Provides statistical
tables on general conditions found in the labor market to include
employment and the labor force; wages and productivity; earnings,
prices, and expenditures; benefits and working conditions; unemployment;
and international comparisons.
SBA Office
of Advocacy
Part of the U.S. Small Business Administration web site. Provides
statistical data on small business activity associated with
general small business performance; demographics of women-owned
and minority-owned businesses; finance; firm size; technology;
procurement; state and local characteristics; and other miscellaneous
categories.
STAT-USA
Part of the U.S. Department of Commerce web site. Provides economic,
business, and international trade information produced by the
U.S. Government through a subscription service that costs $175/year.

and County QuickFacts
Part of the U.S. Census Bureau web site. QuickFacts statistical
tables are summary profiles of frequently requested data items
about population, business and geography from various Census
Bureau programs. Profiles are available at the national, state,
and county level.
United Nations
Statistics Division
Provides statistics from member countries on demographics, housing
and social development; energy production, trade and consumption;
environmental issues; and industrial commodities.
U.S. Census Bureau
Part of the U.S. Department of Commerce web site. Publishes
statistics for a variety of industries, (such as retail trade,
service, transportation and manufacturing) which report on monthly
sales figures and trends, and information on sales by geographic
area, zip code, and merchandise line. Provides reports on 5,000
manufactured products (accounting for 40% of all U.S. manufactured
goods), which describe production, shipping, inventories, consumption
and the number of firms manufacturing them. Also analyzes industry
information by geographic location and reports on the performance
and trends of each industry in a targeted location.
